چکیده
Porous films of metals and metal oxides have gained growing attention as potential materials for use in applications that require large, specific surface areas, such sensors, supercapacitors, batteries. In this study, a “black-metal”-like porous Zn–ZnO composite layer was grown by room temperature co-sputtering Zn ZnO:Ga (3 at/%) ceramic targets. Following deposition, ZnO obtained subsequent thermal annealing process at 400 °C air. The morphology structural properties the layered objects were analyzed. porosity chemical characteristics nanostructured with method herein described make it suitable to be used sensitivity-enhancing active element quartz crystal microbalance (QCM)-based ultraviolet (UV) sensors. prepared resonant ZnO/QCM sensors under UV radiation exhibited maximum shift up 35 Hz several “on-off” cycles, excellent response, recovery times 11 12 s, respectively.

The development of more efficient utilization of biomass has received increased attention in recent years. Cellulases play an important role in processing biomass through advanced biotechnological approaches. Both the development and the application of cellulases require an understanding of the activities of these enzymes. A new method to determine the activity of cellulase has been developed u...
متن کاملArsenic species interactions with a porous carbon electrode as determined with an electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance.
The interactions of arsenic species with platinum and porous carbon electrodes were investigated with an electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance (EQCM) and cyclic voltammetry in alkaline solutions. It is shown that the redox reactions in arsenic-containing solutions, due to arsenic reduction/deposition, oxidation/desorption, and electrocatalyzed oxidation by Pt can be readily distinguished ...
متن کاملNoise Measurement Setup for Quartz Crystal Microbalance
Quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) is a high sensitive chemical sensor which has found widespread spectrum of applications. There are several mechanisms that are related to fluctuation phenomena. Since the aim of our research is oriented to study the sensitivity and influence of different kind of noises on sensor resolution, we modified an existing method to measure the small frequency fluctuati...
متن کاملProbing biomechanical properties with a centrifugal force quartz crystal microbalance.
Application of force on biomolecules has been instrumental in understanding biofunctional behaviour from single molecules to complex collections of cells. Current approaches, for example, those based on atomic force microscopy or magnetic or optical tweezers, are powerful but limited in their applicability as integrated biosensors. Here we describe a new force-based biosensing technique based o...
